Every parent needs a break now and then. This is especially true for parents and caregivers of children with serious emotional disorders, who are often blamed for their child’s behavior while out in the community and as a result, can become isolated at home. Combining this fact with limited resources and no access to respite care means a night out without children is extremely rare!
Partnership Celebration Movie Night 2008
So each year, in recognition of their hard work and ongoing commitment to care for their children and keep their families intact, F.A.C.T. arranges for a family night out free of cost to the families. In the past the kids have gone to the movies while the parents have attended a dinner. The last few years we have had a family night out at Incredible Pizza where each family had dinner, and each person recieved a game card.
This event is truly a celebration – giving parents and caregivers a relaxing, joyful opportunity to connect with each other while knowing their children having fun.
